Dear Colleagues! 

We are happy to invite you to the VIII All-Russian Scientific Conference with international participation "Gemology ", dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the Tomsk branch of the Russian mineralogical society and the 70th anniversary from birthday of Konovalenko Sergey I. and with held on November 23-25th, 2017, in the Tomsk State University, the Mineralogy and Geochemistry Department. 

A wide range of issues associated with general and applied gemology as well as collecting of minerals and the activity of mineralogical museums will be discussed at the regular gemological conference.  

Themes of the conference: 

Ø  Mineralogy and geology of deposits of ornamental stone and collection materials;

Ø  Problem of synthesis and improvement of precious and ornamental stones;

Ø  Gemological collection in the exhibitions and funds of the museums

Ø  Jewelry production and the history of jewelry art

A school-seminar is planned within the frames of the conference for postgraduates and young scientists with the participation of leading scientists and specialists in the sphere of gemology and mineralogy, breakout sessions and a poster session.

The languages of the conference are Russian and English.

Research officers, specialists, teachers of universities, postgraduates, candidates for a master's degree and students are welcome to take part in the work.

A competition for the best scientific report will be arranged amidst young participants of the conference.

In the event of extramural participation the materials of the conference will be distributed amidst the participants by the end of the conference.
